Another Anchor Decides to Leave the Business

As media companies continue to cut, and stop doing real Journalism, the real Journalists continue to head for the exit.

At Tegna’s WATN (Memphis) Anchor Richard Ransom is leaving the station and TV news altogether.

Ransom did not say what his next gig will be, but did say he looks forward “to start a new chapter in my career, one that I couldn’t be more thrilled about.”

Ransom hit for the cycle in Memphis TV news. He worked for WMC, WREG and WATN.

In a social media post, he said, “More than 30 years in this business has allowed me to tell heart-warming stories, cover hurricanes, expose corruption, and even interview a sitting president in the White House.”
