Update: A number of you reached out to say that the local stations in the Twin Cities did cover this story. We want to correct our misstatement. Although, it does appear that it was the YouTuber, who got the story to blow up.

This is a great example of how local TV news has lost their way.

Look at this story which uncovered a massive amount of fraud happening in Minnesota.

The story wasn’t broken by a Twin Cities station, or any other station in Minnesota.

The fraud story was broken by a YouTube named Nick Shirley.

A YouTuber broke a huge story and the local media was beaten by a guy with camera and an online account.
