When it's Passed Off as News, But is Really an Ad

WTRF in Wheeling, West Virginia is "reporting" on Spirit Halloween shops becoming Spirit Christmas.

Aside from the little (if any) actual news coverage to this, a click on the link shows that its an ad disguised as news as WTRF is actually reviewing Christmas decorations and even having "Buy Now" links.

There are 10 “Buy Now” links posted on the story.

But, here is maybe the most interesting think to this story posted by the Nexstar station in Wheeling, West Virginia.

None of these Spirit Christmas stores they are pushing are located in the Wheeling TV market.

So, the story means next to nothing to the viewers in Wheeling and was just an ad that was disguised as news all along.

And this my friends is one of the reasons that people no longer trust the media.
