The Meltdown in Albuquerque

A viewer tells FTVLive that on Wednesday night’s late newscast on KOAT in Albuquerque, there were all kind of issues.

The viewer says that Hearst station’s newscast was supposed to start at 10pm. When it did, they were in black for two minutes, then went to a slate for two more minutes, before running nearly 20 minutes of commercials and promos. 

The newscast finally started at 10:24pm, with the anchors throwing to a reporter in studio. The Reporter’s mic doesn’t work, so they roll the package and the Anchor had to read the Reporter’s tag. They air two more packages, go to weather and the newscast is over.

I’m guessing this is one newscast that KOAT will try and get thrown out of the book.
