Using the November book and a chance to goose the ratings, longtime WCYB (Bristol, VA) Chief Meteorologist Dave Dierks announced he is going to retire.

Dierks has been with the station for nearly 4 decades.

Now, don’t get too worried about missing him, as Dierks will not be retiring in a couple of weeks. In fact, he’s not even stepping down at the end of the year. If you think he might leave at the end of the February book, you might want to think again.

Dierks says that he will be retiring in August of 2026.

Yep, he announced the retirement 10 months before it happens.

But hey, he got to do it in the November book.
