Memphis TV Station Caves to Republicans

A Memphis TV station folded like a lawn chair when some Tennessee GOP lawmakers called them out.

The Republicans called out WHBQ for reporting a story and asking the public for information.

Memphis is in the middle of a federal law enforcement crackdown. That national guard is set to arrive soon (though no one seems to know when). The whole thing is modeled after what happened in DC. There’s a huge federal presence all over town. It is THE story in the market and across Tennessee right now.

WHBQ put out a story asking people to call in with any federal sightings to aid in the station’s reporting.

Several Republican legislators called out the station after this, stating that it was irresponsible, undermining the feds’ work and putting the Feds at risk. After that, WHBQ apparently removed the reporting from its website.

A local radio station reported on the spineless move by the station on their social media.

Here’s the post from one of the legislators, co-signed by several others.
