Fox NFL Analyst is Stabbed
/Fox Sports NFL analyst Mark Sanchez was stabbed in Indianapolis early Saturday morning, according to reports. Sanchez, a former NFL quarterback, was in the city to call Sunday's game between the Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders.
Fox Sports released a statement confirming the incident. "Mark Sanchez was injured in Indianapolis on Saturday and is currently recovering in the hospital in stable condition. We are deeply grateful to the medical team for their exceptional care and support. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, and we ask that everyone please respect his and his family’s privacy during this time.”
The network confirmed that the 38-year-old Sanchez will no longer work Sunday's broadcast.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department stated that a "physical disturbance" occurred around 12:30 a.m. ET near Senate Avenue and West Washington Street. The incident involved two adult males. Police said one man received lacerations, while the other sustained "injuries consistent with stab wounds."
Authorities believe it was an isolated incident between the two men and not a random act of violence.
