Fired TV Host Sues the Company
/Radio and television veteran Sid Simone, a former TV Host and Executive Producer for WWTV, has filed a lawsuit against Heritage Broadcasting, Inc., alleging discrimination, wrongful termination, and a hostile work environment.
The lawsuit was filed in Michigan's Western District Court on October 6, 2025.
Simone, a native of Muskegon Heights, MI, was terminated from her position six months into a three-year contract. Her termination followed repeated complaints about alleged discrimination and harassment, as well as the filing of a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
At the time of her employment, Simone was the only African-American woman employed at WWTV, which is located in the Cadillac market, a rural northern Michigan city.
The complaint alleges that Heritage Broadcasting Group, Inc., justified Simone's termination by comparing her to a 2023 shooter at Michigan State University, who was also African American, and contrasting her to an African-American woman who brought a gun to her workplace in Tennessee.
