Showing Up Late to Your Own Story

Shaun Newell, the General Manager of WMBD/WYZZ in Peoria, IL passed away on Monday after battling pancreatic cancer. He was formerly the News Director at WMBD. Several years ago he was assignment manager at WEEK-TV in the same market.

While reporting on the death of their GM,

WMBD posted their story two hours after his former employer WEEK posted theirs.

“That shows you the sad state of WMBD! The man has been sick for almost a year and they weren't prepared for his death even though they knew he was going downhill quickly,” said one insider to FTVLive.
