Life After Leaving The Firm

There is no doubt that the Fox O&Os have been on a downward trajectory for quite some time, and Fox O&O boss Jack Abernethy doesn’t seem to care.

From very weak and inexperienced hires at KRIV in Houston and letting Kari Lake stay on as long as she did at KSAZ, the Fox brand is not very good on the local level.

Then Fox dumps good people for no reason.

Renee Nelson reported for work back in August of 2023; she had no idea it would be her last day at the station.

In a social media post, Nelson said, "I was unaware that my last day would be my last day when the day started. I was as surprised as viewers that I would not return. I did not do anything wrong. I was not part of any scandal. I don’t have any arrests or habits that one could consider problematic in the workplace or otherwise."

In her post, which Fox approved, the former anchor talked about her time working at KSAZ. "The last few years have been difficult for me," Nelson wrote. "The news can be painful and exceptionally painful to report on stories that mirror your ongoing personal experience. There were days when viewers could see that I was struggling with the content and would reach out. There were days when Fox staff could tell I was struggling."

Nelson did say that she will make a return to TV, but didn’t say when or where. "Rght now, I am finding some peace in continuing to advocate for women who are subject to abuse."
