Signing Off in Sacramento

After 33 years, KCRA Chief Meteorologist Mark Finan told viewers that he is leaving the Hearst station.

“It feels weird to say after having been here for 33 years. This is my home and I've certainly enjoyed time here covering storms, floods and everything else," Finan said on the newscast, “I'm looking forward to the day but it will be bittersweet when that day actually does get here."

"Mark's passion to serve our community and keep viewers safe is beyond compare," said KCRA News Director Derek Schnell. "For more than three decades, he has always been a 'first in' and 'last out' kind of leader. And he's helped us cultivate a talented weather team that will be here to provide a forecast Northern California can depend on for years to come."

He not leaving until later this Summer.
