Is Hearst heading down a dark path?

Email:

There is no doubt that Scripps is pretty bad and on a very treacherous road to complete and utter mediocrity.  We're talking even more so than Nexstar and Sinclair.  The Scripps employee who sounded off pretty much hit the nail on the head.  In fact, the only remaining Scripps station that is even worth watching these days is WFTS and that's only because they have Wendy Ryan.  Sadly, however, I believe that the once-great Hearst is on a similar path to mediocrity.  No, they haven't launched non-live newscasts yet.  But they seem to have an affinity in recent years for advancing news directors who just lay down and take corporate's moronic marching orders rather than standing up for and defending real journalism.  I've seen countless Hearst stations go from having blowtorch teams of top-notch reporters who had been there for years to now having fresh-out-of-school MMJ's who aren't even from the local area.  They've gone from hard-hitting barn burner lead stories to un-insightful no duh look-lives recorded during daylight hours and played at the top of the 11 pm.  I don't know but I don't like the trends that I've been seeing.

In regards to the FTVLive House Tour.

Scott,

Your loft is AMAZING!

How in the world did you even begin? There's so much stuff but it's not clunky.

The shower curtain made me laugh.

The headline on your mom's article is sweet.

The pay phone in the game room is "chef's kiss. Looking forward to seeing the table you've ordered.

And yes, to Pepsi!!!

Congratulations!

Wow! That’s all I can say after watching the tour of your loft.

It was one of the coolest places I have ever seen. I didn’t think you could top your place in Jacksonville, but you did indeed.

How much would it be to have you come to my place?
