He Pitches Insurance Company in His Announcement

FTVLive told you that KJRH (Tulsa) Chief Meteorologist Mike Collier announced he was going to be leaving the Scripps station in a couple of months.

In our story, FTVLive wrote:

Maybe Collier is leaving on his own accord, or maybe he was pushed; the problem is, we don’t know.

A number of Scripps anchors who were let go have told FTVLive that as the company was letting them go, they told the talent that they could frame their exit however they wanted to.

In other words, the talent could say they were leaving for family reasons, retiring, or they wanted to move onto a new chapter.

In his on-air announcement, Collier said it was completely his choice to leave, which we still aren’t sure if it is, as many anchors say that.

He also said that he was going to go work for an insurance company and gave the company a big on-air plug. Did the company pay for that free ad?

Also, is there anything more boring in the world than selling insurance?
