Remember When This Was a No-No?

When I got into TV News, I signed a form that said you can’t and won’t plug companies and services.

It was the payola/plugola form and it was taken very seriously.

It made total sense since a Journalist should not be taking gifts and or pimping companies.

Looking at these posts from KSNB Anchor Alissa Harrington, I guess those rules have gone out the window.

This is done through the station and is part of the station’s sales, but using news talent? If the station came to me, I would refuse

Yet, some still wonder why viewers don’t trust local news.
