Tegna Replacing Pay For Play Show in DC

Word is that Tegna’s WUSA is going to replace their 9 AM pay-for-play show with another hour of news.

“Great Day Washington” which advertisers pay money to be a part of, is being moved out of the morning time slot and will be replaced with another hour of “Get Up DC”, the morning news program on WUSA.

We hear that Great Day Washington will move to an afternoon slot and will be cut from 1 hour to a 1/2 hour.

WUSA’s Get Up DC will be on from 4:25 AM to 7 AM, taking a break for CBS Mornings and then returning for an hour more of morning news.

Anytime to replace a pay-for-play show with real news is a good thing, but there is no word on how long this change will take place as WUSA seems to be in a constant state of change.

WUSA Management seems to change talent and make changes so often that the viewer never gets to see any consistency.

They worry about the sagging ratings and think the answer is to keep making changes to see if something works.

It doesn’t.

This is how the Anchor team of Get Up DC has changed over just the past few years.

A viewer needs a scorecard to keep up with all the changes.

Stay tuned, we’re betting they will be making more changes soon.
