Nexstar's Denver Station Declare Intent to Unionize

Several employees at Nexstar’s KDVR/KWGN have declared their intent to unionize at the Denver station.

The production, master control, and assignment desk staff have decided to form a union as part of the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians – Communications Workers of America (NABET-CWA).

Yesterday, NABET-CWA filed a petition with the National Labor Relations Board to represent full and part-time workers at KDVR/KWGN.

The workforce, with super-majority support, asked Byron Grandy (GM) and Nexstar Media to voluntarily recognize their union with hopes of moving forward with the support of the station.

The unionizing effort will be put to a vote, conducted by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), at a time to be determined.

Petitioners believe with a union, they can hold the station to its public media values of transparency, pay equity, and diversity to better serve the Denver community.
