Nexstar Gets Greedy Again

Fewer people are watching TV as cable and satellite prices continue to skyrocket.

But that is not stopping Nexstar from trying to gouge the viewers for more money.

150 Nexstar stations are going dark in DirecTV as the largest owner of local TV stations wants viewers to pay even more money to watch its stations.

“Nexstar has a long track record of forcing programming outages in an effort to unnecessarily raise prices,” said Rob Thun, chief content officer of DirecTV.

Eventually, Nexstar and DirecTV will come to an agreement, the details of which will not be made public, and customers will once again see their bills grow even higher.

More viewers will cut the cord, leaving a smaller viewing audience, and when the retrans contract comes up, Nexstar will once again be standing with their hand out, demanding even more money.

They seem to have no clue that they are pricing themselves out of business.
