Signing Off in Albany

One of the longest-tenured on-air team members at WNYT is calling it a day.

After nearly 34 years at the Hubbard station, Elaine Houston is retiring from her Reporter job.

“I have mixed feelings because the community has been great to me,” said Houston.

“For nearly 34 years, Elaine has been a mainstay on our news team, providing unforgettable storytelling and authoritative anchoring,” WNYT News Director Michael Raffaele said in an email to the staff. “Whether it’s being a mentor in the newsroom or a passionate voice for women in the community, Elaine has been an inspirational force for us all.”

She signs off next week.
