Nexstar Anchor Accuses Governor of Getting Bribes (Updated)

Nexstar’s KTLA did a story on a bill signed by California Governor Gavin Newsom, that allows cities and counties to ban the use of artificial grass.

Some believe that the turf has cancer-causing chemicals.

While talking about the story, KTLA Meteorologist Vera Jimenez (pictured) went on a rant telling viewers to "follow the money" and accusing Gov. Gavin Newsom of accepting bribes.

"If Newsom isn't getting any (money) he's probably not for it," Jimenez said.

I’m not sure that an Anchor should be accusing the governor of taking bribes. Maybe Newsom should have a conversation with Uncle Perry on this one.

Here is the video of the segment from KTLA. If you don’t see the video below, my guess is the Nexstar suits demanded KTLA to pull the video down.

Update: KTLA edited the video on the website to take out Jimenez’s comments. They did so without commenting on the incident.

It could get a little costly for the company.

If I was KTLA management, I might think about apologizing on this one. Or, at least show proof that the Governor is taking kickbacks.

Just saying…
