Finally Gone In Memphis

Way back in May, FTVLive FIRST told you that WHBQ Chief Meteorologist Joey Sulipek made what many considered a racist post on social media.

Sulipek tweeted about NBA player Draymond Green during a Grizzlies / Warriors game and referred to the play as a “knuckle dragger.”

Sulipek deleted the post after some blowback and the Cox station took him off the air. The station never said much other than saying that they were launching an investigation into the matter.

Weeks turned into months and nothing was said by the station and insiders thought he was going to make a quiet return to the station’s air.

But then something happened. Earlier this month WHBQ, along with a number of other Cox stations were sold to Imagicomm Communications.

It seems that Imagicomm had the guts to do what Cox would not do.

Insiders tell FTVLive that Sulipek is gone from the station and his bio has been scrubbed from the station’s website.
