Anchor Files Order For Protection Against Another Anchor

Yesterday, FTVLive shared an email from a person that sent an email to WHBF (Rock Island, Illinois) Newsroom about an employee at the station.

FTVLive redacted the name in the email, but it now appears to be a public record in court.

Records show that Ann Sterling, who was an Anchor at WHBF and now currently anchors at WQAD across the street (Note: an earlier version of this story had the wrong location) has filed an Order For Protection against WHBF Chief Meteorologist Andy McCray. McCray was the person that the emailer to WHBF was referring to.

Here is the court record of the filing:

Looking at the history of the case, on August 15th the court sided with Sterling saying, “Court finds it has venue and jurisdiction that petitioner has established a prima facie case for an Emergency Order of Protection.”

On that same day the court ordered a “Petition for Order of Protection - Emergency Granted”

A summons was also issued and McCray was expected to be in court on this past Tuesday at 10:00AM. There is another hearing set for September 13th.

We’ll update this story when we get more info.
