Media Company Starts a Company Newsletter

This has shades of middle school, but Waterman Broadcasting has started an employee newsletter to keep everyone up to date on all the good things happening at the company.

Staffers were met with this email, urging them to contribute their news.

What is strange is Waterman only owns two stations and they are both in the Ft. Myers market. In other words, the staff is all under one roof, do they really need a newsletter?

I could see Nexstar a company that owns hundreds of stations and has thousands of employees scattered across the country, decided to do a company newsletter (although, I still get middle school vibes), but it seems odd that Waterman is doing this.

Looking at the most recent issue, an Anchor threw out the first pitch and some minor league baseball game and the station has an outdoor patio for those that want to see out in 100 degrees and enjoy their lunch.

Before this newsletter, do you really think there was an employee that didn’t know there was a patio,

Just remember, on Wednesdays we wear pink.
