Fredo Joins News Nation

(Note: I must apologize as I wrote this story last night and when I started publishing for today’s edition, I accidentally hit save and not publish. I didn’t realize that the story did not publish until I logged on this morning)

When Nexstar’s News Nation announced that Chris Cuomo would be appearing on the channel in a sit-down interview with Dan Abrams, FTVLive wrote, “Not sure if appearing with Abrams is part of the interview process, or if this is News Nation boss Micheal Corn trying to hose the mud off Chris Cuomo’s name?”

It appears it was the second one.

Nexstar announced that they are getting what maybe be the Sloppiest Seconds in cable news history by signing disgraced former CNN host and failed firemen Chris Cuomo to join their struggling News Nation.

Cuomo who once worked at ABC News, before falling to CNN and now falling further to News Nation Is joining NN boss Micheal Corn.

Corn and Fredo worked at ABC News before Fedo left. Corn left ABC News under a cloud of accusations of sexual harassment.

In 2021, former ABC News boss Shelley Ross accused Chris Cuomo of sexual harassment.

Now, Corn and Cuomo are together again at News Nation.

“NewsNation believes in the work I am doing with the Chris Cuomo Project and I look forward to building something special here – covering news wherever it happens and having conversations that cater to common concerns and solutions rather than political parties or the political circus,” said Cuomo.

It wasn’t but just days ago that Fredo was declaring himself a “Free Agent” and selling coffee mugs that said the same. It now appears the “free agency” is over.

Nexstar announced that Cuomo will be hosting a prime-time show starting in the Fall.

Dan Abrams was used by Nexstar to fluff Cuomo and brought him on his show to make the announcement.

It wasn’t “Live PD” as much as it was a “Live Promo.”

So far, News Nation has tried reinventing itself a number of times and nothing has worked, ratings-wise.

Will bringing Fredo onboard give the struggling channel to bump it is looking for? Or, will bringing on a guy that was fired for questionable ethics, a clear left-wing agenda, and an ego the size of Chicago just be another dud?

Stay tuned….
