Shuffling Off and In to Buffalo

The Buffalo market is losing another anchor…

But they are gaining a GM.

Nexstar’s WIVB is losing Morning Anchor Melanie Orlins at the end of the upcoming week. Orlins spent 5 years at the station.

She said it was hard to leave the Queen City. “In our careers we jump around a lot, I’ve jumped around a lot, this is hands down the hardest goodbye I will ever have to do, it really is,” said Orlins.

She has not yet said where she is headed.

WVIB is also losing their General Manager Brien Kenedy, but Nexstar has named his replacement.

The station announced that Joe Abouzeid, most recently the GM at Nexstar's station in Dayton, will replace Kennedy, who has agreed to stay on for a few extra weeks.

Abouzeid previously was the News Director at WPRI in Providence.
