One of the Top Reporters in the Market

When you look at the history of Albany TV news and name the best Reporters to work in the market, Ken Screven will be on that list.

Screven was the first Black Reporter in the Albany market. He worked at WRGB from 1977 until 2011 when he retired.

"He was a class act and he did his job as a reporter, but you always knew how much he cared about the community and the things that were going on and affecting so many people in difficult ways," former Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings said.

Sadly, Screven died Wednesday afternoon in a hospital following long struggles with multiple health problems.

He was 71.
