Big Cuts Coming to CNN+

Long before CNN launched its streaming service CNN+, FTVLive predicted that it would be a bust.

Not many people are watching CNN anymore, why would they want to pay extra to watch CNN+ being streamed?

Well, it appears that our prediction was on the money.

CNBC reports that since the launch of CNN+, less than 10,000 people have signed onto the service, despite the fact that CNN cut the price by 50%.

To give you an idea of how low the number is, CNN is under 10,000 subscribers in the first 2 weeks. Disney+ signed up 10 million subs on the very first day.

Now word is that CNN's new owner, Discovery, is looking at making massive cuts to CNN+ and that will include layoffs.

Look for CNN+ to not be a stand-alone product as Discovery will likely roll it into a big offering, possibly with HBOMax.

The fact that CNN thought there was any chance of this being successful in its current state, just shows you how lost Jeff Zucker was while he ran CNN.

CNN needs to shift its focus to try and regain the credibility and integrity of the network that was lost under Jeff Zucker.

CNN needs to go back to a cable news network, and not a left-leaning mouthpiece.

Time will tell if it is possible to rebuild what Zucker broke, but big changes not only need to happen at CNN+, but at CNN itself.
