The Inbox...
/A number of you are weighing in on the Tegna deal and we thought we would share a few of those that hit our inbox….

Under Tegna's current leadership (a term used extremely lightly), journalism has been replaced with anchors and reporters doing [long string of expletives deleted] TikTok dancing and instagram influencing on the news sets. Oh, right, as well as their tendency of putting comedians on the anchor desk.
We can pretty much bet that since Standard General is a hedge fund, they are going to slim down the stations as far as they can. As they are profit-minded, perhaps they will start putting the kibosh on the TikTok and influencing BS since they do not make money for the station (and cause the station to lose whatever reputation they had left).
At least Dave Lougee will be history. He should have been gone long ago.

Now that Tegna has announced the sale that you have been reporting on for a while now, let's hope that the new owners will address WFAA's Kara Sewell and her posting her political viewpoints on her IG stories only. Notice how she doesn't make a post about them, but goes to IG stories only. Because they disappear after a certain period of time. So while she accused you of manipulating her posts, it's in fact she that is doing the manipulating. She knows her job is to be impartial. Her viewpoints are so extreme. How am I supposed to believe a word that she says? Like you mention about Brian Stelter, if you can't get the little things right, how do you expect to be trusted? (Yes I know she's reading from the teleprompter, but occasionally WFAA does have it's anchors do stories themselves.) I said something similar about Dale Hansen who retired last year. WFAA should NOT have given him the platform on a newscast to rant about his political opinions. Even though I tend to agree more with Dale, it's still not the platform to do it on. I'm looking for the news. Not opinions. If I want opinions, sad to say, that's why I would go to cable news. I'm not a fan of cancel culture. Each situation is different. This one is complex though. Journalists are supposed to report on the facts only. Not give their opinions. And when a journalist likes a post saying that the media helped rig the election, why should I trust a word you say? You're a member of the media, you know better. If you truly felt that way then quit your job. Feel free to post my comments, I would just ask please don't use my name.

I really hope that news reporting is returned to the Tegna stations.
I left my job at a Tegna station 8 months ago and the reason for that is the many things you have outlined on FTVLive. The comedian news anchors, the dancing social media post and the complete lack of practicing real journalism on a daily basis.
I still have a number of friends that are working in Tenga and I truly hope that things get better.
Thanks for everything you do.
