A Lousy $35 Gift Card

Yesterday, FTVLive showed you the internal memo sent to Sinclair employees, informing them that as a Holiday Bonus, the company was giving them a $50 gift card.

Sinclair brought in millions upon millions of dollars last year just in political money and they are giving the staff a $50 gift card.

Plus, get this, the IRS considers them taxable cash-equivalent income. It ends up on your W4 and is taxed (federal, state, local, social security, Medicare - just like a paycheck), leaving it as technically a lousy $35 gift card.

It would have been almost better to give them nothing.

Just saying…
