Nexstar Parts Ways With Correspondent that Asked About Biased Coverage

On September 19th, FTVLive told you how Donald Trump showed up in Ohio to tell lies and air his grievances as to how he believes he is being treated and Nexstar’s News Nation showed the whole thing.

In our story, FTVLive wrote “…you may remember that Nexstar likes to claim that News Nation is about straight news and not having a political biased. Yet, here they are giving a guy that most think will run again for President in 2024 a free commercial.”

After this happened, NewsNation's NYC correspondent Paul Gerke was on a call with other correspondents and network president Michael Corn.

Gerke voiced his concern about the decision and argued that it flies in the face of NN's pledge to be unbiased.

Corn disagreed and told Gerke if he didn't like the network's decision and mission then he should seek employment elsewhere. Our source says that Gerke quit. There was no explanation to the shows or network staff about why Gerke disappeared suddenly.

The NY Post is out with a story and says that Gerke was fired and didn’t quit.

Quit or fired, It is the job of Journalists to question people, including their bosses about what is fair or not.

The fact that all Gerke did was ask about what he perceived to be unfair coverage (which it was) and now he’s gone.

This business needs more people like Paul Gerke and I would argue, fewer people like Michael Corn.

But hey, that’s just me…
