Pink Slips Coming to CNN

It appears that it will not be a happy holiday for hundreds of those working at CNN.

CNN CEO Chris Licht is still in the process of trying to clean up the big steaming pile of mess left by Jeff Zucker.

Licht admitted that he’s hoping to restore a brand he says has been tarnished.

He also says that he is in the process of “right-sizing” CNN.

Right-sizing is a polite way of saying they are going to cut jobs at the network.

Word is that CNN and parent company Warner Bros. Discovery is looking to cut about a thousand jobs before the end of the year.

In a memo to the staff, Licht confirmed that layoffs would be happening. He wrote:

“There is widespread concern over the global economic outlook, and we must factor that risk into our long-term planning,” Licht wrote. “All this together will mean noticeable change to this organization. That, by definition, is unsettling. These changes will not be easy because they will affect people, budgets, and projects.”

If you work at CNN, you might want to keep your head down and update the old resume.
