Darrell Brooks was found guilty of six counts of first-degree intentional homicide on Wednesday for driving his SUV into a crowd of Christmas parade attendees in Waukesha, Wisconsin, last November, killing six people and wounding dozens more.

He was found guilty of the crime and WTMJ did an excellent job covering the Brooks’ verdict.

But, where the station lost me is when they then tagged their coverage of the Christmas parade tragedy with a promo for live coverage of this year’s Christmas parade.

WTMJ did say they were airing the parade because it knew members of the community might not be comfortable watching the event in person.

Still…… it seemed a bit tone-deaf.

The smiling faces in the promo just made it that much worse.
