Did you Try and Pull a Fast One?

It seems as if KTLA’s (Los Angeles) late weather forecast was canned and not live.

First off when the Anchor tossed to Meteorologist Vera Jimenez, he made a comment about don't forget to duck, talking about an asteroid passing nearby.

You would have thought that Jimenez would have said something about comment, or played off of it? But it was a straight cut to the forecast, no cross-talk, no on set to start the segment.

When it came to the maps, all her weather slides stopped with time stamps between 7:10 and 7:15PM. This makes us believe that the forecast was taped shortly after the newscast went off the air at 7PM.

Jimenez also did not do any current temps, which is often a staple of any weather segment.

At the end of her weather segment, again no cross-talk and she just ended the segment on a single shot saying, “back to you guys.”

It really did appear that the weather report she was giving was taped nearly 3 hours before in aired.

While this isn’t the biggest foul this industry has seen, you do wonder how in the No. 2 market, they could not give viewers live weather?
