Yep....She's Gone

Yesterday, FTVLive told you that it appeared that Karen Fuller has left the anchor desk at Sinclair’s KGAN (Cedar Rapids).

We mentioned that she had not said anything on her social media and she has posted to her station branded Twitter account since mid-August.

Fuller made news when she sued Meredith’s KCTV in Kansas City in an age and discrimination lawsuit. The suit was settled before it headed to court.

Fuller reached out to FTVLive and said that, yes she has left KGAN, but under much better circumstances then at the Meredith station.

“I left on my own terms (this time!) and with the full support of GM Glen Callanan and ND Kristen Hamilton. I was offered a renewal negotiation, but the time was right for me to live with, and eventually care for, my 85-year old mother. She wanted to return to her home state of Arkansas, so we are here together, and I'm starting a new job out of TV News,” Fuller told FTVLive in an email.

She becomes another one of the longtime news people to get out of the business.

Word is that KGAN has posted Fuller’s job, but word is they are getting few applicants for the gig.

This is something FTVLive has been hearing over and over from News Directors. They say they are posting jobs, but getting very few applicants and the ones they are getting and not of very good quality.
