FTVLive told you that KDVR Morning Anchor Megan O’Halloran was leaving the station and that News Director Brian Gregory sent out an internal memo saying that he was already looking for a replacement at the Nexstar station.

When you look at the KDVR bio page, it appears that the station could use a bit more diversity to its on-air staff.

FTVLive had hoped that Gregory might have filled the Anchor spot with a person of color. But, as one insider said to FTVLive when it was announced that O’Halloran was leaving, “I’ll bet you $10 bucks it will be a white blonde woman from a smaller market.” More than one station insider has told FTVLive that “Gregory has a thing for blondes.”

Well, it appears we are out $10 bucks.

The Nexstar station has announced their new Morning Anchor at it is Ashley Ryan. She starts next month and she comes from KOTV in Tulsa.

“Ashley is an experienced and exceptional journalist, and she really connects with an audience. Viewers will enjoy her down-to-earth style and her professionalism, we’re excited that she is joining our team,” News Director Brian Gregory said in the station release.

He didn’t mention anything about her being blonde.

Still, I held out hopes for a POC to get the job and in the end, my wallet is $10 dollars lighter.
