We Can't Afford to Pay You

KMEG (Sioux City, Iowa) Meteorologist Katie Nickolaou was trying to get some local storm chasers to provide the station with some severe weather video free of charge.

KMEG is run by Sinclair and according to Nickolaou , Sinclair just doesn’t have any money to pay for the video.

Nickolaou continued to push for the chasers to provide their work to her station for free. She points out that Sinclair doesn’t even have money to hire Reporters, or even buy office supplies.

Not everyone was buying what Nickolaou was selling:

Look, clearly Nickolaou is doing her best to try and help cover the nasty weather and her heart appears to be in the right spot.

But, Sinclair runs her station and that is the same company that bought the Fox Sports Nets for nearly $10 billion dollars and is offering up millions more to buy the NBC Sports nets. I think they could find a C-note or two to pay a local storm chaser the money they deserve for risking their lives.

Yes, the station does have the money, the fact is they don’t want to pay it, and now their Meteorologist is begging for free video.

I’m sorry but is not a good look for the Met, or for the Sinclair station.

Just saying….
