As things have settled down and the country continues on the path to normal again (we still have a ways to go), cable news is settling into its old ways.

The April ratings for cable news shows that Fox News is first, MSNBC is second and CNN is back in its usual 3rd place.

According to Nielsen, all three cable news outlets were down dramatically in the ratings year to year.

Last April the pandemic was getting started and that helped goose the news ratings.

All three cable nets were down year to year with MSNBC losing the least amount of viewers over last year.

In total day, only Fox News topped one million viewers with 1.22 million, MSNBC finished just under a million at 953,000 and CNN was a very distant third with just 786,000.

Both Fox News and CNN lost around 50% of their demo ratings.
