Promoted Just Before the Layoffs

While Sinclair is driving the pink-slip express around the country to their stations and laying off people, one guy seemed to get a promotion just under the wire.

Just two days before Sinclair announced that they were going to start cutting jobs, Sinclair’s WEYI (Flint) bumped Ahmad Bajjey up to the Chief Meteorologist at the station.

Word is that Bajjey got the promotion along with a raise. Just a couple of days later, insiders say that 9 people were let go from the station, including hard-working AM Anchor Rachelle Spence.
