Sources tell FTVLive that KTXL News Director Monika Díaz has quit the station.

Díaz made the move from an on-air Reporter to News Management.

She joined the station back in 2014 as a Managing Editor when it was still owned by Tribune. She was later promoted to Assistant News Director and then back in 2017, she was given the top job.

Diaz was well-liked and respected in the newsroom and sources say that she resigned over Nexstar’s new no cursing policy.

KTXL sources tell FTVLive that Nexstar corporate wanted Díaz to suspend some staffers for violating the no swearing rule and she refused and quit instead.

“The staff has huge respect for her,” said one insider about her taking that stand.

The insider also said that the newsroom has lost respect for Nexstar as a company.

Ain’t that the shit?

Oops, I just violated the policy.
