Holding Down the Fort in Miami

When CBS put CBS O&O President Peter Dunn and VP of News David Friend on “administrative leave” it created a problem at two stations.

Dunn is also the GM of WCBS in New York and Friend was the News Director at WCBS. But, Dunn had canned WFOR (Miami) News Director Adam Levy and WFOR News Director Liz Roldan left to work for Tegna.

Both Dunn and Friend were overseeing the Miami station that was without top management.

Now, with those two on the sidelines, CBS has kind of sort of filled the News Director job in Miami.

KCNC (Denver) News Director Tim Wieland is now the interim News Director at WFOR, along with still overseeing his station in Denver.

While he is pulling double duty, it must be nice to know that you can go to Miami in February and the company is paying for it.

Miami will be in the 70’s today while it is currently in the 20’s in Denver.
