Back in late September, KTRK longtime Anchor Art Rascon announced that he would be leaving the station at the end of the year in an email to the staff.

It was soon announced that his son Jacob Rascon was leaving KPRC and crossing the street to KTRK. Many thought that Jacob would be filling his dad’s shoes at 5 PM.

Well, Art took to social media to say that he is not leaving at the end of the year and will be extended his departure date until January 3rd.

He also said that while Jacob will be anchoring and reporting at the station, he will not be taking over the 5 PM newscast from his dad.
