Cut Off Just Before Launch

While ABC News offered “special coverage” of Michael Strahan’s trip to space, one Tegna station left viewers hanging.

Just before the Blue Origin rocket carrying the Good Morning America host was set to liftoff, Tegna’s WQAD (Quad Cities) dumped out of ABC’s coverage to bring viewers the local news.

One could argue that the ABC coverage was nothing more than a commercial for Jeff Bezos, viewers that did invest the time in watching it, were left hanging as the station left right before liftoff.
