Calling it Quits After 3 Decades Plus

Longtime WCSH (Portland, Maine) Anchor Cindy Williams becomes the latest to use the November ratings period to make the announcement that she is retiring from the station.

Williams posted on the station’s website, “These last two years have been more than trying for all of us. Nothing like a worldwide pandemic to give us all pause. Add two spinal surgeries into the mix and I've had a lot of time to think,” she wrote, adding, “COVID has been a period of reassessment for many of us. The bottom line for me: It's time for me to make a change.”

She is retiring from TV news, but she is not going to quit working.

Like many former TV news people, Williams is making the jump into real estate and will start selling house.

She signs off from the station before the end of the year.
