Tegna Station Investigated for Porn Video

It appears that the police are now involved in looking into what happened as Tegna’s KREM broadcast hard-core porn during their newscast.

In the toss to the weather segment, in a background monitor, porn was playing.

It was easy to see and neither the Anchor or the forecaster mentioned the video playing on the monitor. FTVLive watched the clip and we were shocked at how long the video was on screen with no one either cutting away or caring that this was being broadcast.

It took quite a while for the station to issue an apology about the video, finally releasing a statement:

“Those of us here at KREM 2 want to apologize for something that happened in our 6 p.m. newscast tonight,” said the station. “An inappropriate video aired in the first part of the show. We are diligently working to make sure something like this doesn’t happen again.”

But it did happen and now the police are involved.

The Spokane Police Department released this statement:

The FCC has not said anything publicly, but it is a good bet that KREM and parent company Tegna are looking at a rather large fine.

Stay tuned….
