Running Programing Using the LiveU

Sources at Sinclair’s WKRC (Cincinnati) tell FTVLive that the station has lost the Master Control servers as part of the cyberattack against the Sinclair stations.

“I can tell you as of last night Local 12 was abandoning traditional playback out of Master, and actually had directors on the phone with photogs/editors/producers to run things directly out of LiveU units on the air,” said one station insider to FTVLive. “If you watch playback today from local 12, you can see the little "play" button in the top corner of all the videos,” the source added.

While Sinclair stations have been greatly impacted by the hack, employees are finding workarounds to try and keep the stations on the air.

It is here that we might want to point out that Sinclair has frozen the wages of those very same employees for the entire year of 2021. Yet, employees are doing all they can to keep the stations on the air.

Might be time for Sinclair to pay those people what they deserve.

Just saying….
