FTVLive has been telling you that struggling Meredith Broadcasting has been trimming their workforce as the company tries to save money and make themselves more attractive to possible buyers.

Sources tell FTVLive that all the Meredith stations were hit with cuts and that includes WSMV in Nashville.

Word is that the final number is around a dozen and it includes, 2 anchors, 3 photogs, the Director of Newsroom Technology (in charge of the photogs & their gear & the live trucks), 1 producer, one exec producer, longtime front desk / exec assistant, and others.

The day after the cuts Meredith executives took to social media asking if people wanted to apply for new jobs in….you guessed it…..Nashville.

Word is that the company fired many people in the creative services departments and will be now using a hub that apparently will be in Nashville.

There is another posting for the same thing in Phoenix.

Not sure who wants to join a company that just whacked around a hundred and fifty people off the payroll and roped their staff into taking pay cuts for months, but OK?

Also, you just cut a lot of people, can you maybe give it a little time before bragging about open jobs at the company?

Seems a bit tone-deaf, don’t you think?
