Yesterday, FTVLive told you that Nexstar has brought in longtime TV consultant Consultant Mackie Morris to help guide the launch of their cable newscast on WGN America.

We got some feedback from TV newsies and wanted to share what landed in our inbox:

Gotta ask--what's Nexstar doing bringing in a consultant who believes in the "possibility of a rigged national election"?

At first, I thought it was sarcasm but it sure seems to me like he was being serious.

If he wants to believe that, that's fine, but it doesn't make it true. It's strange and disappointing to see someone adjacent to the news business (and responsible for influencing how news is presented) echo the President's wildly unproven claims, especially in a kind of flippant, matter-of-fact way. It's as if the "possibility" is something widely agreed-upon rather than widely discredited. Seems like that's not the kind of worldview you'd want shaping a "NO-BIAS cable newscast."

Maybe this is a dumb thing to rant about, but that's my two cents.
