A while back, FTVLive told you that CBS was looking to hire a number of MMJ’s in Tampa and Atlanta.

CBS owns WTOG the CW station in Tampa that did not have a newscast.

The station has recently started doing a newscast at 10 PM and it is up against the powerhouse WTVT, the Fox O&O in the market.

People that have tuned into the CBS newscast say that it looks cheaply done and they believe that the weather reports are being done remotely because the Weather Anchor mispronounces places and towns in the Tampa area.

Let’s make no mistake about it, Florida is going to be one of the most important states in this upcoming election and by launching this newscast, CBS is poised to rake in some political bucks that never would have come WTOG’s way.

I believe that this is much more about the money than about the news.

You do have to wonder how CBS affiliate WTSP feels about CBS launching a newscast that competes against their station?
