Yesterday, FTVLive told to that Gray Television had made an $8.5 billion dollar bid to buy Tegna.

The Gray offer shocked a number of people inside and outside Tegna.

Later on Friday, an offering that shocked almost no one came in. The equity firm Apollo which bought up the Cox stations is also now making a play for Tegna.

Just over a year ago, Tegna said that Apollo approached the company then about possibly buying them and now Apollo has come back to the table.

Right now this is all in the very early stages, but it is driving up the company stock and making the rich people richer.

As the staff at Tegna stations wonder about the future of the company.
