WHTM News Director CJ Hoyt is leaving the Nexstar station in Harrisburg, PA but he is not leaving the Nexstar nation.

Hoyt is headed to Indianapolis duop WXIN/WTTW.

Here is the internal email sent to the staff at WHTM and obtained by FTVLive:

Team,

I’m happy and sad today as I inform you that CJ Hoyt is leaving us to join our Nexstar stations in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This is a promotion for CJ and well deserved. Having said that it is a loss for us as CJ has been a key component in our local news audience growth these past few years. He also was instrumental in the design of our new facility and our Digital Now Center.

CJ hired many of you on this note, and a fine job he did! Please join me in congratulating CJ on his new appointment that will begin on or about March 23.

What is Interesting here, WHTM sources tell FTVLive that the station Assistant News Director is being laid off effective March 1.

So, insiders are wondering who will lead the newsroom when Hoyt leaves a couple of weeks after that?
