The Inbox....

Opening up the FTVLive Inbox and we see that at least one TV newsie is really frustrated right now.

I’m sure many of you can relate:

We're finding out right now who wants to be here, and who would rather sit at home under false pretenses.
The majority of those I work with take Coronavirus seriously. We wear masks, we practice social distancing and we're careful outside of work because we genuinely care about our co-workers. Then there's a shocking number of people who don't give a fuck and are using Covid as an excuse to get more time off. None of us know for certain, but we have a feeling they're getting paid to sit and home and do nothing.

Some of these idiots who are sitting at home are even posting on social media they're out of town when they should be in quarantine after saying they're positive. Are managers doing anything about it? No. Some are given special considerations because they have "health issues." What's funny, those same people who have "health issues" have no problem getting drunk on the weekend, taking pictures with multiple people wearing no masks and posting on social media.

However stations are forcing some to quarantine, through no fault or their own, and are forced to work from home, outside of what they usually do, or take sick time. That's bullshit. Some had multiple negative tests and they're still not allowed back.

Managers, we know you read this website and get mad when someone leaks stuff on here. You want to know why people leak? Because when your employees present you with the problem, you do nothing about it. You say you'll take care of it and the same crap repeats over and over again.

Do your job. You won't hold the right people accountable, you have your little pets who get special treatment and guess what, everyone sees it and we lose respect for you. Instead of trying to solve conflicts in your own newsroom, you're more worried about who leaked the information on ftvlive? You look and sound like a crazy person when you're more mad about that than the actual problem you should've addressed.

This is why people get pissed and leave news. This is why managers get fired. Was it really worth it to protect your little pets? What's in it for you? Stop being peoples friends, stop trying to sweep crap under the rug and do your job and manage people who need a firm kick in the ass. If you continue to do nothing, this business will suffer and be left with only incompetent people who have no business being in our industry.
